2012 Lancia Thema

Five meters long, 1.5 meters high, 1.9 meters wide and with a wheelbase of 3 meters, the Lancia Thema was designed based on the new Chrysler 300, in turn created on the Chrysler Group LX rear wheel drive platform, and like its predecessor in 1984, it is ready to take on the toughest and most prestigious segment, striving to offer a genuine alternative.

The new Lancia Thema offers two different 6-cylinder engine versions, all with automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Pentastar V6 3.6 liter petrol engine delivers 286 HP, and has an 8-speed automatic transmission. The V6 3.0 liter Multi jet II diesel engine is available in two power levels: 190 HP and 239 HP, both with 5-speed automatic transmission.
The new Lancia Thema is equipped with the tried and tested W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission on the diesel engines and the 8R45 eight-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF combined with the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine.
The suspensions of the new Thema ensure performance worthy of a Gran Turismo, as one might expect from the great European saloon cars. Two suspension set-ups and wheel/Tyre combination are available: “Comfort” (standard on the Gold and Platinum trim levels with 18″ wheels and tires) and “Touring” (standard on the Executive trim level with 20″ wheels and tires and, on request, on the Platinum trim level if fitted with 20″ wheels and tires).
